When they left power, Labour left a note. It read: "there is no money".

Five years on, notes of a different kind are turning people's lives around. Job offers. Lower tax bills. Apprenticeship offers. Mortgage approval letters. Confirmation of school places.

These notes are the result of a plan that's about giving you security at every stage of your life.

So never forget the note that Labour left - and how far Britain has come.

Today this is our note to the British people: let's keep going - to build a brighter, more secure future for you, your family and our country.

The next Conservative Government will double the free hours of childcare provided for working parents of 3 and 4-year-olds, from 15 hours to 30 hours a week during term time.

For families with young children, childcare is not one issue – it is THE issue. This policy is designed to help them in the choices they make. It will be available to all families where all parents work – even those who work part time and will be additional to existing entitlements, including Tax Free Childcare and Universal Credit.

With a Conservative Government, you will get 30 hours of free childcare a week, equivalent to £5,000 a year, so we can proudly say to every young family in Britain – it’s the Conservatives who are on your side.

The next Conservative Government will pass a new law to guarantee a Tax-Free Minimum Wage.

Labour burdened hardworking people with too much tax, and Britain’s lowest paid workers were amongst the hardest hit by Labour’s Great Recession. In contrast, we can proudly say that the modern, compassionate Conservative Party is the party of working people; for millions of workers not just the party of low tax – the party of no tax.

As the Prime Minister said in his party conference speech last year: ‘with us, if you work 30 hours a week on minimum wage, you will pay no income tax at all. Nothing. Zero. Zilch’.

To make sure more people can enjoy the security of home ownership, a Conservative Government will extend the Right to Buy to up to 1.3 million tenants of housing associations in England and create a billion pound Brownfield Regeneration Fund to unlock 400,000 new homes on brownfield land.

1. Labour have left the door open to hit every working family with over £3,000 of tax rises

Nowhere in their manifesto do Labour rule out altering the thresholds for National Insurance and the 40p rate of income tax.

Nor do they rule out above inflation increases in fuel duty – which Labour hit motorists with several times when they were last in power.

It’s clear that Labour would hit hardworking families with more taxes all over again.

2. Labour would borrow more

The Institute for Fiscal Studies, the independent think tank, have confirmed that Labour could increase borrowing by £30 billion (Daily Politics, 13 Apr 2015).

When Labour were last in power, their borrowing wrecked the economy. This manifesto is a blueprint to do it all over again.

3. Labour have paved the way for a deal with the SNP – which would mean chaos for Britain

In this manifesto, common ground between the two parties is as great as ever.

On pages 17 and 18, Labour open up agreement with the SNP on higher spending and lower tax thresholds.

And on page 78, Labour only commit to a ‘minimum’ nuclear capability – moving closer to the SNP’s position of scrapping Trident and putting our national security at risk.

For all Labour’s words, theirs is a manifesto for more taxes, higher borrowing – and the SNP holding the purse strings.

Share the facts and let everyone know that Labour would mean chaos for Britain – as their manifesto shows.

Ed Miliband helped run up the biggest deficit in our peacetime history, refuses to admit Labour spent too much, forgot the deficit in his conference speech and now his manifesto confirms it: he wants to borrow more.

We've come a long way since Labour's Great Recession - but Ed Miliband and the same old Labour Party would put it all at risk.

If you've worked hard and done the right thing all your life, we in the Conservative Party back you.

Watch and SHARE this video from David Cameron on our plans to take the family home out of Inheritance Tax.

Many families who have worked hard, saved and put money into their home are caught by Inheritance Tax - a tax that should only be paid by the rich. It should not be paid by people who want to pass on the family home to their children.

So we are announcing that the next Conservative government will take the family home out of Inheritance Tax. We will introduce a new transferable 'family home allowance' of £175,000 per person. For a married couple, this will effectively increase the Inheritance Tax threshold to £1 million.

It will be paid for by restricting pension tax relief for those earning over £150,000.

The choice is now clear: if you work hard, save and want to pass on your family home to your children - vote Conservative.

Today Labour's Shadow Health Minister said people should judge them 'on their record on the NHS'. (Liz Kendall, BBC Breakfast, 11/04/2015)

We couldn't agree more.

In this video, Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt explains how our plan for a strong economy means we can continue to invest more in frontline NHS services.
